They seem to have told them all the good things white people can bring and say they are not good enough as they are blacks. Next, the boys must participate in the battle of the king. Blindly, boys beat each other cruelly. This is a symbol of an African American fighting for equality. It represents a struggle they can endure and is recognized as equal to our white society in the abolition of slavery.
