Symbolism,Characterization, and Faith in Hawthorne's Young Goodman Brown

I believe that the symbol, features and beliefs of Goodman Brown's young faith can neither be seen nor touched. Faith knows something, especially when there is no evidence to support it. "Young Goodman Brown" is a story about a man who went home alone by night, left a wife with faith, while traveling the way of demonic seduction. During his journey, the man saw many people who seemed inappropriate, including his wife. He was a strange person when he returned to Salem's house.

Nathaniel Hawthorne used symbolism in the story of Young Goodman Brown. Thomas Walsh said Hawthorne used triple symbol mode. The first symbol used in the story is the wife of Young Goodman Brown, three months of faith. Faith represents faith in the faith of man and religion. The journey that Brown experienced symbolizes the inner journey of the human heart. Walsh said that the third symbolic tool used in the story is the devil and that it represents Brown 's evil side.

Faith, and the struggle for maintaining it is the theme of Nathaniel Hawthorne's "Young Goodman Brown". In this story, Hawthorne called Goodman Brown's wife, convinced that it produced a clear symbol and irony. Throughout the story, Goodman Brown constantly seeks to maintain his religious beliefs, and when his wife's faith succumbs to evil, faith is lost. In the second paragraph of the story, faith says: "A lonely woman suffering from such a dream and such ideas sometimes she is afraid of herself, please pray with me tonight" Sexually and literally, it is predicted in the second paragraph of the story. Nathaniel Hawthorne uses various people as a symbol of "Young Goodman Brown". The biggest iconic character in the story is Goodman Brown and his wife Fes. The names of these two characters are symbolic and represent their personality. "Heaven is above, faith is below, I fight firmly with the devil!" Cried the good man Brown. Goodman Brown is a really nice person. Faith, Goodman Brown's wife also has a name that shows her nature. This story directly supports this by the phrase "My wife is properly named ..." (184). In the first part of the story, faith continues to lead a good man Brown from the way of sin. "... Postponing the trip to sunrise until sunrise, I will go to bed in your bed tonight" (184)) Hawthorne is good at turning the leading role into a symbol that stands out amongst the whole story.
