Swimming on Chincoteague’s Beach

This was 9 am, I was 32,000 feet above the ground on my way to Chincoteague Island, Virginia. Chincoteag is in Chesapeake Bay and is released to the Atlantic Ocean. I was exhausted when I got up at 5:30, so we can arrive at the airport three hours in advance so that we can pass security checks. I have been flying many times, but it has become increasingly difficult to fly after 9/11. My grandma read her love story on my right side and her friend Delloris fell asleep on my left side.

The settlers first came to the island in the mid 17th century. Since then, the island has developed a small town and is a popular vacation destination. One of the highlights is a beautiful wild horse known as the Chincoteague Pony running through Chincoteague and its nearby islands. There is also a beautiful beach where you can take pictures of the sunset and lots of fun wildlife. This historic lighthouse is located at the outcrop of the entrance to Port Portland. It was completed in 1791 and became the oldest lighthouse in Maine. Whereas the US Coast Guard is in charge of managing towers, lighthouses, and misty whiting, today the lighthouse is automatic. The building was ordered by George Washington himself!

Known as a beach town, Kovalam has a quiet beach such as Samudra Beach, Hoa Beach, Lighthouse Beach, and many foreign tourists visit. You can enjoy various water sports such as surfing and jet skiing in shallow beaches of these beaches. Guests can sunbathe at the beach, swim, enjoy Ayurvedic massage, spa and yoga classes.

For the beach, there are two main swimming locations. There is a beautiful setting sun on the public beach in the southwestern part of the island. Women can not wear bikinis, but please be aware that you will need to cover yourself in that area. The water is clear and transparent, local people also appear late in the afternoon. "Bikini" beach is on the northeast side of the island. Here, women are welcomed in short clothing. The beach is very beautiful and a bit deep, ideal for real swimming activities.
