Swannanoa Palace is a beautiful mansion located above Afton in Nelson County, Virginia. It was built by James Dooley for 8 years as love for his wife, Sally Dooley. That name was given to their house in commemoration of Sally's love for swans and how they chose a lifelong companion. The palace was built in 1912, has 300 craftsmen and 2 contractors. The couple also has another house in Richmond, Virginia. This house is officially called "Maymont".
