Survival in Three Short Stories

The effort to survive and see another day since the first people crossed the earth was a problem. There are many obstacles that make daily life a difficult struggle, and there are many reasons why some people can not meet the expectations of this struggle. Some of the reasons people did not flourish in their life are three short stories by Steven Vincent Bene "Water of Babylon", Jack London's "How to a Fire", Shirley Jackson. "Lottery" is brilliant. The author of each story skillfully hints at the sentence why letters and civilizations bring their own destruction.

In James Hurst's imaginary short story "The Scarlet Ibis" I read a little boy named Doodle who discovered the will to survive and examined the positive side of life with the help of his brothers. In this short story there are three symbols representing the theme of the story. The symbols read in this article are as follows. Flying, Peacock and Red. The symbols of all the stories are associated with Brother and Doodle. In "The Scarlet Ibis", a lot of red is cited. Red represents birds, scarlet ibis. He is watching the bleeding tree. "This is a wonderful red bird," he shouted. '(P.561) In this quote, graffiti explains Scarlet Ibis and its color is magnificent and beautiful. Red also represents the body of graffiti. When graffiti got angry, his face got red and his eyes shone. At the end of the story, the graffiti is covered with bright red blood.

The plot of James Hurst's short story focuses on the symbols of Scarlet Ibis and Doodle. This is not the only symbolic meaning of the use of Hurst, but in the whole story, he represents death in red. These two or more symbols create a short story that evokes special emotions.

Instinct human beings depend on it to survive. In Howard Fred's short story "The Big Ant" he instantly explains the instinct to survive when humans are born with violence, the government acts, and Morgan shows that he will not hesitate to kill.
