Supporting Children Through Care and Education

This task should explore the different environments in which care and education are provided for the services offered to children and for children. It will focus on professional practice and will support the principles and values ​​of working with children, including the promotion of child rights. The history of early childhood education and education (ECCE) refers to the development of nursing care and education for children from birth to 8 years of age throughout history. Early childhood care and education is worldwide, infant care and education is always an integral part of human society. Arrangements to achieve these social roles vary over time, cultures are varied, often reflect the social and economic role of men and women, the structure of families and communities. Historically, this arrangement, including members of the family, families and communities, was generally informal. Formalization of these arrangements took place in the nineteenth century at educational kindergartens and nurseries in Europe and North America, Brazil, China, India, Jamaica and Mexico.

Early care and educational methods in Europe and America are quite different. European governments tend to favor publicly available early treatment and education (ECE) which is widely prevalent in all children from 3 to 6 years of age. In some countries, medical quality is often relatively homogeneous, and overall quality is often high. However, the proportion of children / staff varies greatly depending on the country, and the ratio of some countries (Finland etc.) is considerably lower than in the United States and other countries (France etc.). Staff licenses in Western European countries are consistently higher than in the United States. For example, Germany provides universal ECE to all children aged 3 to 6 through the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and 85% of children aged 3 to 6 participate in the program. Maximum allowable child / staff ratios range from 10 to 14 children among each teacher. Teachers must receive post-secondary education for 3 to 4 years
