Art researchers DiMaggio and Pettit (1999) have reported that the National Arts Foundation (NEA) has problems with maintaining the support of the US Congress. The House of Representatives voted against the NEA, but the Senate is still supporting supporting it. The NEA has also suffered many damage from Christian conservatives and Republicans. Attitudes towards art DiMaggio and Pettit (1999) conducted research to enable many people to conduct different investigations. They were all related to artistic support.
Support the art. The Ministry of Culture provides morality and economic support for art, but most artists are independent. Art and handicraft are important to all people, especially in cities with numerous art galleries, artists are respected and loved. Even in smaller towns like Tecpán, Comalapa, Santiago de Aitlán, we sell paintings by local artists to foreigners and tourists in Guatemala. There are dozens, perhaps hundreds of indigenous "original" painters, and some of them are internationally famous. Their product is an important part of products that are offered to tourists and local collectors. Foreign painters are mainly exhibited in the capital; these include many foreign artists as well as Guatemalans
Support the art. During the Soviet era, the government widely supported art, established cultural centers in each city, and paid salaries for professional artists. By independence, state funds have shrunk down, but they still account for the majority of art funds. Many dance, theater and music groups rely on the state, with emphasis on large-scale production and large-scale performances, controlling major venues, and often having agendas that artists can follow. Other artists joined private companies to perform for wealthy businessmen and tourists. Some of the funds come from corporate sponsorships and international charitable organizations, such as UNESCO and the Open Society Association of the Soros Foundation. However, many artists have only to find other works.
