Sun Farm

Sun Farm is an interdisciplinary project / place and experience park created by architect / artist Daniela Bertol and David Foell. The site with a land area of ​​60 acres (240,000 square meters) is located in Krabelac, New York, including art, geography, architecture and sculpture on the land about 110 miles (180 km) north of New York.

Formation of the landscape and structure faces a double effort to celebrate the universe, capturing the sun and celestial body, and the energy of the sun. This research reveals an established philosophical statement of understanding time and part of the system.

From sunrise to sunset, the sunset road will disappear in the evening. Literally and metaphorically, it is represented by two spirals connected by a long axis of two miles. East Spiral is located at the eastern end of the axis and represents the day when human life begins. The axis of the sun extends in the east-west direction, it is defined by the solar panel connected to the energy grid and ends with the west spiral representing sunset and night. The macroscopic observation platform visible with the naked eye defines the center of the spiral. Preliminary build - already implemented - included:

Sun Farm is also considered as an alternative to outdoor art centers, energy farms, various activities available in the community, energy exhibition, as a destination for educational arts and nature. Please see the main artwork - crossing helical path - develop in different layers of perception. Art is an event for participants and brings a spiritual experience that the audience will see the sky on the way of the sunshine during the day. Walking along the way will provide a different layer of interpretation as a walking meditation and will experience a direct helix / time / sun way / life metaphor. Sun Farm inspired the overall model of oriental philosophy / practice and its relationship to the events of the universe in early culture.
