Summary of The Book of Habakkuk

Unlike other small prophet's books, this book is different from other small prophet's books, as it is not God to tell his people through the prophets, the prophets represent people and solve (or challenge) God I will. The Israelites are evil, and God punishes them again for their heresy. It seems to be a constant cycle, these people collapse, persecuted, and repent. In this case, God used an evil country, the Chaldeans to punish the Israelites.

During 25 years between the collapse of Nineveh (612 BC) and the collapse of Jerusalem (586 BC), the Prophet Habakke apparently wrote Habakkuk. Habakkuk may grow during the reign of Josiah. He could have witnessed much of the reform he had taken during the reign of Judah. But Josiah was the last righteous king to sit on the throne of Judah. People who obey him are evil people. When Josiah died, all his reforms died with him. Judah has few traces of religion. The prophet Jeremiah told the evil of Judah before Jerusalem was beaten by the Babylonians (or the Chaldeans).

Summary - Habakkuk's statistic is that Habakkuk questioned the integrity of his own people, Israel. He asked God's judgment to come upon them because of their evil. When God declared to destroy the Assyrians in answering Habakkuk 's plea, Habakkuk left the question of why God would overcome God' s people by wicked people. God did not answer his questions directly. Habakkuk left a doubt, but even if he did not "get it", with new understanding, he had to rely on living faith alone (H 2: 4).

Now, as we review Habakkuku, how do you explain the change of the prophets? What happened to Habakkuk between Chapters 1 and 3? We must first point out that this change is not immediate, but as a result of the process, a somewhat painful process. Habakkuk does not understand what God does. As he apparently failed to deal with his people's sins, he was angry with God. He could not understand how God used the Chaldeans to judge Jews. Through a series of events, God changed the mind of Habakkuku

In the last article on Habakkuk we saw that the prophet began dialogue with God. Habakkuk has two problems. Mainly Israel is living in sin, and Habakkuk does not understand why God did not do anything to change them. In addition, when God answered for solution, he crushed Israel with the Chaldeans. God tells Habakkuk that it gets worse before it gets better. This is what we experienced with God. Pure strangeness of thinking about his way. If God is a kind and loving God, why does he allow all the fears and wars around us? It is not a problem as we have settled it, in fact it can even be fought against God in doubt. I would like to continue using Habakkuk as a model idea. How do you explain the surrounding situation? How do we solve the problem in the right way?
