Suicide in Male Prisons

I chose the article "Exploratory analysis of male prisoners' ability to suicide size" (Smith et al., 2013). In this paper, we propose a research that could give prisoners various scales and questions, self-declare events of life to think about suicide and try. "In the world, suicide is the leading cause of death in prison sentenced persons, accounting for half of the deaths in prisons" (Smith et al., 2013). Since there was no research on the theory behind the suicide and prison inmate, this study used the suicide capacity scale of many prisoners.

Male prisoners are more likely to commit suicide, but in 2016 22 people died in female prisons in England and Wales. This is the death of the largest number of female prisons since 1990. Psychological intervention can reverse this trend. Dr. Walter said, "Sometimes suicide is not the first self-injury, but self-injurious behavior is usually a predictor."

Suicide is the tenth most death cause in the world, men achieve higher suicide rates than women - men have a 4 times suicide rate higher than women. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, male death accounts for 79% of all suicide in the United States. However, not fatal, the proportion of attempted suicide is four times that of women, more common among young people and young people. Suicide is the second most common cause of death among people aged 15 to 34. In the United States, on average 38,000 people died of suicide every year.

Why is suicide happening? The increase in the number of suicide in the prison occurred concurrently with the reduction of the prison officials and the budget and the increase in the number of people in the prison and became crowded (Howard League, 2014). Prison violence has increased, prison security is getting worse. The prisoner spends several hours a day in a cell. The use of penalties for prisons has increased, and even more punitive daily systems have been introduced, while the number of deaths has started to increase. The suicide rate in the prison is the death of 120 people per 100,000 prisons (Ministry of Justice, 2016), still higher than the mortality rate of the general population. It is misleading to attribute an increase in the suicide rate in the prison to an increase in the suicide rate of the general population, and in 2014 there were 10 deaths per 100,000 people (National Statistics of Statistics, 2016 ).
