The Department of Drug Abuse and Mental Health Services (SAMHSA) is an agency of the US Department of Health and Human Services and is responsible for leading public health initiatives to promote behavioral health in the country. The mission of SAMHSA is to reduce the effects of drug abuse and mental illness on the community in the United States. The Treatment Improvement Protocol (TIP) series provides clinicians, project managers, and payer with the mission of SAMHSA to provide evidence-based best practice guidance to mitigate the effects of drug abuse and mental illness on the community in the United States I will fulfill.
