Ernest Hemingway's "elephant-like mountain" was first published in August 1927. Another piece I chose to compare with the short story was "Black woman" written by Georgia Douglas Johnson first published in 1922. Harlem Renaissance. Antigone and Ismene are juxtaposed to show different viewpoints for women. Antigone considers that if you think that the order is unfair, you should not violate that person's order. Ismene believes that men should be responsible and should be afraid to challenge her position in society. Antigon is willing to die for what she thinks is right and by doing so her power becomes obvious
