Students' letter writing campaign brings recycling to Allen

A third grader at Allen elementary school recently learned the power of persuasive writing when persuading the local waste removal business well in order to provide recycling service to schools.

At the MCS Executive Board held on Wednesday 17th December 2014, Mr. Harriwell and Mrs. Connor's 3-year Allen teacher shared this lesson and success. Four students then read the letters they sent to them. Wabash Valley Refuse is a division of Republic Services

"Is there a resource to help people around the world protect the trees and make the earth a more livable place?" Jayshaun Baity added Allen Elementary to Wabash Valley by providing necessary equipment and shuttle service I asked with a letter asking for help.

Aubryanna Bigelow enters the center of the question, "Do you want children to have a clean desk? There are several documents that can be recycled on our desk."

Terrell Blackwell notes that Allen's efforts can not only reduce school waste but can also have a ripple effect to help keep the community clean.

"We will also help local people to think about recycling, helping to throw trash," he wrote in a letter.

In Allen's case they point out that more customers can be taken to the Wobash Valley and other schools will see the effort to launch Allen's successful recycling program.

Steven Fuller argues that the ripple effect may go a step further. "You have the opportunity to be held responsible," he wrote in the Wabash Valley. "Responsibility will make the town accountable, then the world will be immediately responsible."

In addition, he also pointed out that Wabash Valley is already serving on the street.

Mrs Connor said that the efforts of the third grade students prompt Wabash Valley to respond promptly and said the company agreed to provide equipment and recycling services.

Find real opportunities for students to write persuasive letters, speech, confidential advertisements, and other persuasive works for families and regions. For example, after recycling units, students can write persuasive letters to their families to persuade them to recycle more. Alternatively, students can try to convince them to write a letter to their school librarian and buy something special for that library. Students will be introduced the concept of lobbying through the "debate" activities in the classroom and the way of writing letters. It is important for them, or for what they want, to make persuasive statements. In this module, students gradually learn techniques used in persuasive verbal discussions and apply them to independent, compelling writing activities. Provide students with opportunities to write convincing letters and speech to gain persuasive and real discussions such as excursions, class movies, questions at school, problems in the community. Invite speakers to reward them by planning the class events that they propose in a thesis or presentation, or listen to your class and provide feedback

The students were assigned a task of writing persuasive letters. Some of these letters have been modified by students and sent to various media in Philadelphia. Imagine yourself as a great athlete who just graduated from high school. You may be strong and fast, but what do you think of people if you do not do well? Today's problem is that many sports students are not academically superior. This discrepancy could potentially leave the university and compromise their chances of getting a professional job. Therefore, students need to have good grades to participate in sports.
