Student job opportunities are an essential part of Portland University's philosophy and it is convinced that meaningful and rewarding work experience is an educational benefit of permanent value. Therefore, the university assigns a large amount of funds to employment of students each year. Several students are entitled to participate in federal job research programs, but most students earn funds for student employment agents on campus.

Meet the needs of universities and other campus employers to fulfill their daily work

Please drop in on the student employment tent next to the orientation headquarters on Thursday, August 23rd. Please remember to bring the original document to complete the necessary hiring process. This document must be completed before you start working on campus.

All F - 1 students can study outside the school, except border commuter students. F - 1 students do not need USCIS approval. However, employment must be an employer with educational relations with your school. For details, please refer to the section on employment in school. This process begins when F - 1 students ask to allow the DSO to take off - campus jobs. After deciding whether the DSO should make recommendation, they enter it into SEVIS. DSO prints support form I-20 "Nonimmigrant Student Identity Certificate", signs 1 page and 3 pages and hands it to students.

Employment on campus provides qualified students the opportunity to find employment on various campuses. In order to be eligible for employment on campus during the academic year, students at Hamline University are degree holders, must have qualification to work in the US for at least half a year in each semester. In order to qualify for summer work, students must be registered for at least half a year, must be pre-registered in the fall semester, and qualified to work in the United States. Freshmen who received the State or Federal Work Research Award are eligible to participate in the first week of the trade fair fall semester. All students are eligible to work on campus; students with job research award take precedence over a particular position on the campus. If you have federal or state work research awards there are a number of extracurricular employment opportunities in neighboring communities and Sao Paulo / Minneapolis metropolitan areas.
