For the purposes of this paper, I will evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of neoclassical realism and focus on the central assumption of the theory about the interaction between international systems and units. Discuss the theory about the international politics of this region, in particular the formation of the Iran - Iraq war. Neoclassical realism systematically embodies some kind of insight of classical realism and the main principle of other realism paradigm.
Initially, realism was proposed to oppose moralization of relations between nations and idealism. Classical realism is an analysis of domestic and foreign political practices from the perspective of human beings, this practice is meaningless and has a dark side in nature. Neolariist scholars believe that classical realism drags complicated analysis of political practice into the concept of realism so it becomes inoperative. Neo-realism is focused on competition among sovereign states and brings about the disorder of the international system.
However, in international political research after World War II, international relations became an independent research department, classical realism became the first school in this field. Hans Morgenthau, a supporter of classical realism, has the greatest influence on international relations studies. In his "International Politics" (1948), Morgans advocated the theory of his political realism, which is the basis of international political research over 20 years. Under the guidance of Kenneth Waltz, the classical realism is followed by neo-realism. Waltz, known as the father of neorealism, advocated the development of more systematic and scientific realism in his book "International Political Theory" (1979). Classical realism and neo-realism are two prominent schools in the field of modern international relations research.
