Before a year ago, I sat on a desk and struggled with my setback to make a consistent sentence. The sentence I wrote was Spanish, not English, and it was used in my school's annual language contest. The challenge I was facing at the time was a hard work for my Spanish students. I look like an infinitely long list of 16 topics, and the challenge of memorizing the minute of speech for each topic. Competition difficulty is that none of these topics are chosen randomly, and I will have to talk about this.
Students studying English as a foreign language often face the challenge of learning English and using it effectively. Several students have dealt with the difficulty of language learning, have achieved great success, and do not seem to pay much effort, but for other students the task is neither enjoyable nor successful. Why is mastering a new language so easy for someone and so difficult for others? One of the reasons is that "All students have their own learning style, depending on their culture, educational background and personality" (Shoebottom, 2007).
I think that language success will grow more than nature. I was not good at English when I attended school. When I was twelve years old, I started working with the university professor who showed me excitement of language learning. Since then I have spent thousands of hours college, language courses, and myself to learn languages. I learned to see interesting parts in language learning, so I am motivated to devote all of this time to developing my skills over others. As a language coach, I think that students with different nationality, age and career are more talented than I am. Regardless of the situation, for all of us, it will result in a consistent practice that took time.
Learning a second language is not easy. Learning English as a second language is not easy. Especially if you are learning English outside the English speaking country. For example, English learners from African countries such as Nigeria, Ghana, Liberia, Zambia and Malawi face many challenges as English is not the official language of these countries. This is the most important and often overlooked problem. The difficulty to solve this problem is that many communities are English learners and who knows who is an excellent English teacher and who is not. Regardless of what the teacher says, regardless of whether it is correct or not, it is considered correct by the learner.
