Storybird is a website that allows you to write stories using illustrator's amazing artwork. You can work with other writers or write themselves in the same story. There are many possibilities to use Storybird in the classroom, but these possibilities have been expanded by recently added course accounts. After registering your account for the first time, you can click here to create an account. Every child can have his own account and all accounts are tied to your account. You can also create assignments for children to submit books written for this purpose.
In my classroom, Storybird is the solution. For many students trying to write, the first sentence is usually the most difficult. Where did they start? What should they write? Storybird uses wonderful artwork to urge students to write great stories. There is a huge art library to choose from, and Storybird allows you to create artworks, chapters and even poetry using artwork. I used Storybird in social studies to help students write articles about the Ottoman Empire. This is the only hint I offered. Simply put, "Please tell me about the Ottoman Empire." I will show students how to use Storybird and start their creativity from there. They talked wonderfully and helped to strengthen what they learned.
