Stephen William Hawking was born on the 300th anniversary of Galileo's death in Oxford, England on January 8, 1942. He lives in his father's house until eight years old. Stephen's father's house is in the north of London and parents are Frank Hawking, a research biologist who worked as a parasitologist at the London National Institute of Medicine and Isabel Hawking. At the age of eight, he moved to a small town about 50 miles from his father's house.
