STEM Education in the United States

For many years, science education was a controversial topic between employers and schools. Employers demand more STEM graduates, but schools can not respond to increasing demand. The unemployment rate continues to rise, but the work of science, technology and engineering is not yet satisfied. STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) education is important for the status of the United States in STEM research and design world rankings. At the moment, the third place among the top five in the STEM survey is being held in Asian countries, but sadly, the United States is not among the top ten.

However, compared to other countries, the quality of STEM education in the United States is not yet competitive. The STEM revolution is popular throughout the country. Nevertheless, research, business and corporate efforts in the United States are still ahead of other countries. The success of an independent thinker created by the American educational system seems to ignore the numbers that define our country's educational efforts. Of course, doubts are raised on the use of the scoring test method to evaluate the educational outcomes of recent students.

Science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM) education at elementary and junior high schools is often the foundation of university engineering education. In the United States, engineering education is part of the public school's STEM program. Service learning in engineering education is increasingly prevalent in various fields of engineering education including mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering and other engineering education.

Among 34 countries, the United States is 27th in STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) education. Among the 71 countries, America is ranked 38th in mathematics and 24th in science. Compared with many countries, the United States spends more on education, but these dollars have not achieved better results. For example, each student in the Slovak Republic spends about US $ 53,000 at the same level as the US, and each student spends over $ 115,000.
