STEM CELLS is a monthly refereed journal that provides a forum for quickly publishing original research reports and brief reviews. Stem cells are read and written by clinical and basic scientists specializing in the rapid development of stem cells and progenitor cell biology. STEM CELLS welcomes original articles and brief reviews that describe basic laboratory studies on stem cells and clinical translations from laboratory to characterization and manipulation of patient care. This journal covers all aspects of stem cell embryonic stem cells / induced pluripotent stem cells, tissue specific stem cells, stem cell technology: epigenetics, genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, cancer stem cells, transformation and clinical research, regenerative medicine doing.

A stem cell is a cell that can be transformed into several cells in the body or into any cell type. There are two kinds of stem cells, adult stem cells and embryonic stem cells. Embryonic stem cells are present in cells that have undergone the first ten growth and division cycles after fusion of eggs and sperm. These cells are pluripotent and can be maintained to allow them to grow and divide indefinitely without differentiation. Similarly, they are human embryonic stem cells (hESCs) as defined by Bryant and Schwartz (2008), and in mammalian embryos some sperm fertilization and some cell divisions occur after the intrauterine eggs. Since the total volume of the cells does not increase, cells called blastomere will become small. Then they reorganize into hollow spheres called blastocysts and surround the capsules which are liquid filled cavities.

There are three types of stem cells. Embryonic stem cells, adult stem cells, artificial pluripotent stem cells (iPS). The most famous type of stem cells are embryonic stem cells. This is due to the extensive coverage of such stem cells by the media and for many judicial laws developed based on their use. They are also popular among researchers because they are the most flexible type of stem cells. Unlike more mature counterparts, they have the ability to regenerate all kinds of cells. Embryonic stem cells are found in two areas: umbilical cord and embryo. Embryonic stem cells are found in the blood taken from the umbilical cord immediately after birth. It contains hematopoietic stem cells that can be used to produce erythrocytes; among other things. There are also mesenchymal stem cells that can be used to grow muscle and bones. Hematopoietic cells are used for the treatment of blood related diseases such as autoimmune diseases and leukemia
