Embryonic Stem Cell Rescue Lives Specialized cells from human embryos, called embryonic stem cells (ES cells), are actually capable of saving lives. These cells can be used for many medical purposes and can benefit people in an infinite way. The importance of embryonic stem cells lies in the lack of specialization. These basic cells are in the early stage of embryogenesis and can grow to almost any kind of cells and tissues in the body.

In the field of stem cell research embryos and adult stem cells are often compared. The controversial use of embryonic stem cells is supported on the basis of their many advantages on adult stem cells. Embryonic stem cells are more readily available; they have greater cell proliferation, also known as proliferation, ability; and they are more versatile. Blastocyst stem cells are isolated from the embryo during the blastocyst stage and this process destroys the structure of the embryo to the extent that the embryo can no longer grow.
