From January 1, 2007, the purpose of the Certified Financial Planner's (CFP®) Board of Directors' Professional Code of Conduct is to ensure that individual actions do not adversely affect the careers of Certified Financial Planner. Criteria include: ethics and professional responsibilities, codes of conduct, standards for the practice of financial planning, discipline rules and procedures, and candidate health standards. These standards establish characteristics and compliance standards to promote and protect the integrity of the CFP® logo.
Violation of professional behavioral standards - The law recognizes that certain legal standards are professionally recognized as acceptable behaviors. These professional codes of conduct depend largely on the ethics of the State Bar Association. "Vocational Code of Conduct" has set minimum standards on professional behavior of teachers, but it is not an exhaustive list.
