Sports and Moral Development

We want our children to develop strong personality. However, we do not want them to have strong personality, we want them to have a good role. People with good character have virtue. It is a tendency to act in a specific way. But virtue is not only behavior but also intellect and emotion. In other words, good personality, kind person, legitimate reason and strong passion

Sports is a stage where moral development can occur. This development is achieved through imitation and enlightenment. The child learns how to play football by imitating a person who is good at sports. Likewise, children can learn how to be kind by imitating ethically gentle people. Launch is also very important. Whether you are soccer or ethical, experienced practitioners will provide excellent examples of adapting young people to this custom habit. Children need to be encouraged to use sports as a moral custom. In other words, it is not a method that is contrary to ethics, and you will play sports that you should play.

People who act well do show generosity, fairness, respect for rules, cooperation and other virtues. These benefits are often incorporated into a particular sports tradition and promote player formation and presentation. For example, suppose Arsenal players were injured in a coat in a football game. Although opponent Manchester United is attacking, it intentionally stops the game by kicking the ball and injured Arsenal players can receive medical care. Because it was eliminated by Manchester United, according to the rules of the game, the ball belongs to Arsenal. It also requires coaches, parents, and fans to tackle sports in the same way. This is idealism, but remember that the tradition including sports tradition is ultimately under our control. Sports is what we create. It is a place where you can form, show, and strengthen fun, competitiveness, high demand, and strong and good character.

However, the close link between sports participation and moral development is only weak empirical support (Kavussanu & Ntoumanis 2003). Therefore, it seems more appropriate to find a mediator that contributes to the development of sports ethics. Sports generally do not transform individuals into moral persons. In contrast, unethical behavior seems to be easier for sports to accept than daily life (Bredemeier & Shields 1984). Frank (1978) expressed this movement as "the world itself" because of the two principles of opposition movement. Franke (1988) called this "inherent tensioning system" (quoted from Steenbergen & Tambor 1998: 36).
