The Spokane tribe in India belongs to the Salish group inside the northeastern state of Washington State, the northern part of Idaho State, and the western part of Montana State and has existed for hundreds of years.

Tribal headquarters of Indian Spokane and Spokane are now located in Wellpinit, Washington. Wellpinit is in the Spokane Indian Settlement about 50 miles northwest of Spokane, Washington State.

In the past, the Spokane tribe lived in more than 3 million acres of land, protected and respected. Members of the tribe will catch the Spokane River and the Columbia River and use the magnificent Spokane Fall as a place for families and friends to gather. Spokane lived in the Spokane Indian at the river, the upper part, the middle part, and the lower part. Traditional campgrounds vary according to the seasons in which they live

In January 1881, President Rutherford B. Hayes officially announced that the Spokane-Indian settlement would be the new residence of the Spokane-Indian. The three Indian bands have been separated and some have found a new house now known as the new Codarane Indian Settlement, Flathead Indian Settlement and Corbyville Indian Settlement. Today's Spokane Indian Settlement is 157,376 acres. As of May 2017, members of the tribe included 2,879 people; we are strong and constantly evolving. American Indians live in Indian settlements or jurisdictions such as the Colville Indian Settlement, Makah, Muckleshoot Indian Settlement, Quinault, Salish People, Spokane Indian Settlement and Yakama Indian Settlement. The western part and the Pacific coast are dominated by American Indian communities such as Chinook, Rumi, Seirish. The Indian Spokane tribe of Wellpinit is a tribe that tries to maintain the economy. They currently have two casinos, three gas stations, a campsite, an amphitheater, and a dock that can rent boats. One casino is on reservation and the other casino is in Chewelah. Their goal is to build a successful casino with Airway Heights as soon as it becomes like a Northern Quest casino. Spokane Indian held numerous events throughout the year, including the Jam Festival, the Native American Heritage Day, the Poker Run, the Art Auction, many prisoners of war, and the annual circular theater concert.

Spokane Falls is the center of tribal trade and fishing. Spokane is made up of three bands living along the Spokane River. Spokane shared their culture and Salishan's language with several other tribes, including Coeur d'Alenes, Kalispels, Pend Oreilles, Flatheads, Kootenays and Colvilles. As early as the 19th century, Northwest Fur sent two white fur catchers to look for fur in the western part of the Rocky Mountains. They are kind with the locals they encounter. Captives became the first two Caucasians encountered by the Spokane people who thought they were Samar or sacred. They helped them evacuate to the Colville valley. The tribes have found that these people did not bring "great magic" to the tribe as their members continued to die of smallpox, whose members first attacked the tribe in 1782. In trends, half of the tribe died.
