Neglecting a child is one of the most common forms of child abuse, and for many children this is still a serious problem. As the children overlooked are more likely to experience drug abuse and educational failure as they grow, these results may affect society as well.

Ignoring children has a lot of negative impact on development. Ignored children have emotional forbiddance, anxiety symptoms, low self-esteem, risk of cognition and language retardation. Children ignored are often bullied by unpopularity. They have problems in forming and maintaining a close deposit. Academically, children neglected are undergraduate, sometimes going to school. Ignoring the extreme form can lead to growth, hindrance to growth, and death. Ignoring has proved to be more harmful to children than other forms of abuse in both short term and long term (Erickson & Egeland, 2002). Premature infants, children with disabilities, child rearing, adolescents, protected children, and children of blacks and ethnic minorities are particularly negligible (NSPCC, 2007).
