Societal Issues: Poverty

As art reflects a variety of cultural issues, you can learn social problems and their seriousness in other countries of the world. In this way individuals of all cultures can receive education on these issues. Through the development of technology, consciousness is rising. Today, we have movies, pictures, music, and social media that makes it possible to "publish" or "announce" problems occurring all over the world. It spreads the word earlier and allows us to receive notification immediately. This technology occurred in the second half of the 20th century and continued until the 21st century.

In the field of sociology, empirical research focuses on clarifying broader social problems (ie poverty, homelessness, mass imprisonment, obesity). With macro review of social issues, sociologists can use the strong empirical evidence to confirm the discussion. However, in social history as a whole, case studies have been used as microscopic evidence to present a strong debate about larger social issues. For example, the case of Emmettir revealed cruelty in the South and young black atrocities, four girls lost their lives in Montgomery's burned church and revealed violence from the explosion of the church and atrocities of KKK. Racial violence at Rosewood, Florida revealed the history of the ethnic cleansing of 1923 and the frequency with which the entire African American community was expelled from their land, family and companies.

There are many definitions, but one thing is certain; poverty is a complex social problem. Regardless of how poverty is defined, it can be thought of as a matter everyone should pay attention to. It is important that all members of our society work together to provide opportunities for all members to maximize their abilities. It will help us all help each other
