In this survey, 416 social workers selected in local, state, or federal elections were identified, and these social workers were identified and investigated most. Citizen's voluntary models are used to explain the factors that lead to their political participation. This model examines individual resources, recruitment and expertise, and how these factors affect the participation of the general population. This model begins to explain how these social workers initiate the elected positions and helps to identify opportunities for social work education and professional social work organizations that wish to influence the process. These results can be used to increase the number of social workers looking for elected positions.
