Social Order (Foucault and Goffman)

Introduction Social order arises from the interpretation of human relationships, symbols, and social norms networks. It creates "a sense of how an individual fits in a shared space" (Silva, 2009, p. 308) and hence depends on the coding of physical space and human behavior between different individuals. In any society, we must acquire knowledge about how people relate to each other and the environment. Next, the order is established by standardization and standardization of this knowledge. In this article we will study two aspects of social order, applied to social science and embodied in everyday life.
