Dr. Anthony Cortese is a sociology professor at Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas, Texas. The main areas of his research and education are hatred speech, racial and ethnic relations, social policy, social ethics, media and gender, and sociological theory. Since he got a doctorate from the University of Notre Dame at the age of 25, he has written four books and more than 40 academic papers and book chapters.
