Smoking: At What Cost?

Although smoking rates have declined in the past two decades, "Smoking in college students does not decrease as much as the population, so university smoking is a problem" (Harrar et al., 121). This statement shows the importance of college students to reduce smoking. I believe the university campus benefits from "smoking policy". This policy will help eliminate the negative impact of smoking and secondhand smoke on campus.

Smoking - Cost 1.24 The cost of smoking is high in terms of people's health. However, the cost of smoking is also high in other respects. It is estimated that smoking causes loss of NHS to 1.7 billion a year. It also gives families, especially the poorest families, a great price. In 1996, income assistance was a single parent of about one million people, 55% of whom sucked an average of 5 packs per week. This means that in that year, a single parent family spent an amazing 357 million dollars in cigarettes.

One of the reasons people started smoking is that the price of cigarettes did not rise so much. Conversely, if the cigarette is high, the number of people who started smoking decreases. The cost of cigarettes (nationwide average of $ 4.26 per pack) does not reflect actual smoking costs (estimated health loss and productivity loss per pack is 10.28 dollars). If tobacco reflects its true cost, the price of tobacco will rise.
