Smallpox is always one of the most dangerous and deadly curse in human history. Even such diseases as plague, cholera and yellow fever do not have such widespread impact. Smallpox is a parasitic virus (virus harmful to the host) called Balihora virus. It can only be transmitted through the population and is considered "crowd disease" which requires densely populated areas to survive. It disappears when the virus is blocked from the new host. Smallpox spread through the so-called "droplet infection". "Water droplets" are body fluids that escape to the outside air such as moisture when sneezing.
Smallpox 1518-1977: "Smallpox disease is at least 3,000 years old, confirmed in China and India" (Brock 122). In the 17th and 18th centuries, small smallpox was the most serious infection in the west. Europeans have developed a genetic trait that makes them immune to small pox. When they traveled to the USA, they resulted in small pox, and the disease ran out of the population: symptoms include sudden fever, headache, back pain, vomiting and convulsions. A clear rash appears after about 2 to 3 days after symptoms appear, and smallpox is diagnosed. The rash begins with small pink spots and then turns to blisters. After all, they left hard and depressed wounds in the deep part of the skin. The hard material left behind contains variola virus. Death usually occurs between 11th and 15th (Brock 132)
Small variola is a big problem for the two fighters and ultimately brings benefits to settlers. Little pox spread through British and American troops, but Americans have developed a vaccination method - vaccine. They plunged to healthy people to take a little pox from the patient and to help their bodies learn to fight it as soon as possible so that their bodies can later fight the virus. Because of small pox, Britain could not find this way and soon lost soldiers. Their earlier advantage was British as they were shipping soldiers on board.
Small variolas are truly deadly, but humans have weapons, ie vaccinia. In the late 1700's, Dr. Jenner noticed that dairy maid with mild vaccinia had never infected small pox. On May 14, 1776, he infected the boy named James Phpps with vaccinia and caused a small pustule. Then Dr. Jenner infected the boy with small pox, but he did not suffer small pox. Dr. Jenner found the only defense against small pox. This vaccine is very effective as there is no other smallpox host. This is the only owner who is a wise man. As a result, the World Health Organization launched a global plan to eradicate small variola, and they began vaccinating dozens of people. I am occurring, they go there to isolate people infected with smallpox, and vaccinate people around the area where the infected person was found. On December 9, 1979, Bangladesh reported the last case of small smallpox and therefore eradicated smallpox.
