Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

I would like to talk about Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. He is a person I admire his book. Indeed, I have read many of his detective stories along with Sherlock Holmes. But before I talk about why I love his novel, I would like to do a few biographies about him.

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was born in Edinburgh on May 22, 1859. He has nine brothers and sisters. Their father is a civil servant who died of alcoholism.

After studying elementary and junior high school at Catholic University, he studied medicine from Edinburgh University from 1875 to 1881. Then he worked in a hospital for several years, but he did not succeed. So he started writing. He published his first article in 1879. In November 1887, Sherlock Holmes first appeared in "Red Study." Then, Conan Doyle gave up writing medicine.

Conan Doyle is known for Sherlock Holmes' adventure, but he is writing many other types of writings. For example, he wrote historical novels like white companies, SF like "Lost World", and supernatural books. He writes over fifty books, so he is a prolific writer.

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle died on July 7, 1930 for a heart attack. According to him, his most important historical work is now almost forgotten. On the contrary, famous detective Sherlock Holmes is famous all over the world, he thinks it is only for making a living.

I am not a wonderful reader, but Conan Doyle's detective story is easy to read. He may be my favorite writer. I like these short stories. Usually, the action starts from the beginning of the story. There is no meaning in the description of actions, characters, backgrounds. Every detail has the importance of solving this puzzle. Doyle likes descriptions of characters seeking help from Holmes. Watson telling stories taught us details on clothes and face. After the first discussion, Sherlock Holmes knew a lot about the personality of the visitor only by observing these details. Holmes likes this observation.

To the best of my knowledge, Conan Doyle is a great writer as his story is well managed. I think he has a wonderful imagination.

For all these reasons, I like Conan Doyle and his work, and I am very happy to see his novel. And I began to read it in English: it is better for the original!
