From Jalpaiguri or Bagdogra airport you need to book a taxi to Sikkim Gangato. You can ride a taxi at the train / airport or you can contact Sikkim's travel agency to arrange the transfer.
Sikkim has four districts: East Sikkim, North Sikkim, Nancy Gold, West Sikkim. Regional capitals are Gangtok, Mangan, Namchi and Gyalshing. These four areas are further subdivided; Pakyong and Rongli are eastern, Soreng west, Chungthang northern, and Ravongla southern. Each area of Sikkim is overseen by a collector of the area appointed by the central government in charge of the management of the civilian area of the area. Since Sikkim is part of China's sensitive border area, the Indian army dominates the majority of the state. Many fields are restricted to foreigners, and an official license is required to access them.
