After listening to the news of school shooting and other violent incidents, students are naturally natural, no matter where they are, and it is natural that such events happen to them and friends on a particular day worry.
When such a tragedy occurs, it is normal to feel uneasy about sadness and to know the situation.
School violence is not easy to understand. There is no reason for students to become violent. Some people just follow the behavior they saw at home, on the street, or in video games, movies, or on television. Some people are dealing with mental health problems such as depression. Sometimes people who become violent feel victims of bullying, reaching the limit, doing anything to stop it. They are isolated and may be rejected by their colleagues. These are just a few of the reasons why people become violent.
But experts agree with one thing: getting guns and other weapons can make it easier for some people to object to things and people they do not like .
If you are worried about school, please consult a reliable adult. That person can become a teacher, a guardian, a school counselor, or a religious leader. It is difficult to report violence - after all, we are taught not to tell others
However, many schools have established ways to report anonymously the possibility of bullying and violence. Maybe your school has anonymous hotline (or maybe you set it up) let people share worries without worrying that other students may be told
If you have experienced or have experienced some form of violence, if you do not speak about it, emotions may accumulate inside and cause problems such as depression, anxiety, fear etc. Persons who have experienced traumatic events such as serious car accidents, physical abuses, sexual abuse or shooting may cause posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
There is no need to get hurt after a posttraumatic stress disorder - for some people it can only be caused by watching a traumatic event or being threatened by a great physical harm. That is why it is important to get help. School counselors can start a good start - they are familiar with your school problem and can help you see things
Expression of violence in culture has increased, violence at school is increasing. In the past, only the cities and poor downtown schools were concerned about serious violence. In a recent school shooting in a small town from Kentucky to Oregon, all schools and school districts in the United States must deal directly with the increase in school violence, no matter how small. The teacher learned that the children go to school when they are as young as kindergartens. School answered resolutely. Many people closed the campus to reduce the threat of strangers and unauthorized people. Others require that everyone on campus always be given identity proofs. However, when students go to school on their own, schools are obliged to take more rigorous measures. Many people install metal detectors and perform random searches
In elementary school there was no threat of violence other than typical boxing. We do not have to worry about guns and bombs at school at all; in fact, we are completely unaware of this threat. This is very typical in American elementary schools. It is unusual to be exposed to the threat of bombs and let primary school students take guns at school. In high school, the threat of using weapons on school grounds is much higher. When I was a high school student, I never felt a personal threat, but I always knew that someone might be seriously injured. There are many times to find a knife from the school and confiscate it. In the 4 year high school there were only 1 or 2 bomb threats. I think that these threats have never been taken seriously. Students have never left school or evacuated school. In most cases, these threats are only for those who are going to graduate from school one day.
