Short-Term Aid

Many people do not know that all assistance is not good aid. The aid given may actually be more harmful than its aid. While studying this course, I found that aid is very appropriate to the situation. All assistance depends on the scope of aid and the number of aid workers. There are some moral support and there are other kinds of support. Based on the extensive research done in this course, what really worries me is what kind of aid works and what kind of aid it is not like.

Food aid is an important form of assistance to third countries. The short-term impact of food aid depicts the interests of people in developing countries, but this is controversial and will be explained later in this article. Long-term food aid has a serious social and economic impact. Economically, it tends to hurt local production by squeezing local markets, thereby hindering local production (Smith, 1994). Food aid tends to strengthen reliance on various foreign products. Local consumers are excited about the prospect of buying or consuming foreign-funded subsidies and free food. However, even after the food aid program is completed, this dependence may continue. Local consumers will naturally choose foreign foods more than local consumers, which raises even more concern among local peasants that their products are currently less competitive in the market.

Food aid may be for people who are short of food. It can be used to improve people's lives in the short term and allow society to improve their living standards so that food aid is no longer needed. Conversely, poorly controlled food aid can cause problems by disrupting local markets, lowering crop prices and hindering food production. Sometimes there may be cycles of dependence on food aid. The withdrawal from that provision or threat may be used as a political instrument to influence the policy of the destination country, a strategy known as food politics. Sometimes food aid regulations require that certain types of food be purchased from a particular seller and abuse food aid to strengthen the donor's market. International efforts to distribute food to the poorest countries are often coordinated by WFP.

Developing countries are putting pressure on short-term global capital market reform by incorporating their overall opinions into developing countries. In the absence of short-term financial market reform, the impact of foreign aid can be invalidated by a series of financial crises. If overseas aid is activated, you can endure the financial crisis just like using Band-Aid to control the effectiveness of bleeding.
