Short Story: The Illusion

"What am I doing here?", I desperately whispered. When trying to open my eyes I tried to understand my own weakness. I looked at the lid under the closed lid and let go of the apple that I had in my hand.

Shortly thereafter, the infinite space of awkwardness, awakening, drifting, silence and darkness envelops me. "What is happening to me?" When I suddenly suffered a shock that the universe was leaning, I thought quietly. I tried to respond to any action just to give a signal of life, help of cry, but I can not.

Illusions can be defined as sensations, distortions of reality, and dreams like things that consume our world. The author of James Baldwin's short story "Sonny's Blues" is attracting his readers as it uses the unique creativity of fantasies. He used several literary elements including characterization, plotting and scenes to express his illusion of use in this story. Likewise, the author of Nathaniel Hawthorne's most controversial short story The Birthmark also draws attention to mystical and morally mysterious backgrounds with hallucinations.
