The first of his many inventions was a buckle called "Tokubijo". His other invention was Eversharp automatic pencil in 1915 when Sharp got its name. After the pencil business was destroyed in the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923, the company moved to Osaka and started designing the first generation Japanese radio stations. These began selling in 1925.
