Set Design for Antigone and how it Helps the Audience Understand the Themes

An overview of Antigone's set design and how it helps today's audience to understand the theme and atmosphere of the show. For Antigone's set design, I need to consider how everything is linked together to provide a complete picture that interacts with actors, settings, colors and proportions. If I were designing a show for the performance of the university, I would play in the theater studio at the University of Notre Dame, a square space of around 8 m x 8 m. The important themes conveyed in this play are power, arrogance, love, war, pride, and family values.
