I am volunteering at the Youth Care Center (YDC) this semester. YDC is a youth center committing a crime, from escaping the house for 13 to 18 year old teenager to cutting the hydraulic brake line of parents' cars. Once they conclude that young people will not become active members of their community, they will be sent to YDC. There are four different units: H stands for young people in the court but can not stay home, E is a girl troop, G troops are small crimes and boys committing felons, and unit F is big for boys It is a crime. Criminal offense such as sexual assault and drug trafficking.
DYRS provides and manages various services and internships for its faithful young people. The security center operated by DYRS is a new start center for Youth Service Center (YSC) and youth development. YSC is a safe accommodation center in the district. The New Start Youth Development Center is a safe accommodation facility for young people in this area. YSC is operated by DYRS as a safe juvenile accommodation center in the District of Columbia that opened in 2004. This is an 88-bed facility for unrestrained (unconfirmed) men and women who are accused of violating the law and are waiting for a hearing in court. YSC meets the needs of youth serving. YSC's educational service is provided by the Columbia Special District Public School (DCPS) and offers a variety of services to residents. The facility also offers programs and services to satisfy the basic mental health, emotional, physical and social needs of young people.
Many services should be provided to young people at detention centers and confinement facilities. Services vary depending on facilities, but in general, programs and services for young people are adjusted according to the needs of young people. At the center of the youth facility is the Youth Rehabilitation Bureau. Many believe that education is a major rehabilitation service that must be offered to detained young people. In an efficient school in a youth facility, high school courses, preparations for general equivalent diplomas (GED), special education services, certified teachers, ratio of elementary school and teacher, family connection, and career training opportunities are offered . Despite the state and federal requirements, there are many problems with the education system of the juvenile retention center. In the criminal justice system, juvenile detention centers (JDC), juvenile detention centers, juvenile criminals, or juvenile detainees, more commonly also called juvenile offenders, are prisons most adults use (also called juvenile offenders ). Long-term care and programs waiting for trial or being sentenced to imprisonment or other facilities. Minors are sentenced to puberty courts and handed over to another program or facility through another court system
