Miron and his colleagues (2010) examined the separation of charter schools using a national database of schools operated by the educational administration organization (EMO). They discovered that charter schools for ethnic minorities and most students tend to be apartheid rather than local school districts. Researchers also found evidence of economic isolation. Most charter schools are divided into very isolated high income schools and very isolated low income schools. Miron and colleagues concluded that the 2000-2001 EMO Charter School Isolation Model is about the same as 2006-07.

I have been teaching at Brooklyn Prospect Charter High School for 4 years. The Brooklyn Prospect Charter School fulfills a brilliant mission in cities and countries where classrooms are subdivided from the perspective of race and class. They are members of different school alliance nationwide, and their leadership team is serious about their mission and vision. Well, I found it difficult to teach classes full of all kinds of students. Although this seems obvious, even considering the inherent challenges of diversity, I am overwhelmed by the diverse needs of students.
