Chicago - If you think that your community has changed from your first stay, you should see what it was 60 years ago.
The digital photo collection archive of the University of Illinois in Chicago scanned approximately 2,300 black and white photographs from the 1920s to the 1950s at intersections in various parts of the city and in the famous outdoor area.
According to the university, the picture comes from the Illinois Department of Transportation and it seems that it was made for the Faculty of Engineering in Chicago Park District.
The photos represent intersections, streets, bridges, snow removal, and other transport functions centered on the main streets in the city.
Many pictures show the same area from different angles, looking at business, fashion, architecture etc., while providing initial snapshots of traffic and everyday life.
In order to show how Chicago is changing we draw hundreds of photos and compare them with Google Street View.
