orchestra. The main building of the theater is called an orchestra. If you go to an orchestra concert and your seat is in the orchestra, this will confuse you. It does not mean having a musical instrument and sitting on the stage. Depending on the location, this area is called a booth.

Balcony In some theaters the balconies are given special names such as Loge, Founders' Circle, Dress Circle. There is a name on the front of the balcony and there may be another name on the back of the same balcony. These names and their meanings differ in every theater.

Boxes are small stalls for a few people, usually on one of the lower balconies. Some outdoor amphitheater has a box near the stage. The box may have extra privacy. Not all the theaters have them

Standing Room In some theaters you can buy a cheaper ticket and you can make it stand in a row behind the seat of the last row. If you are patient, this may be a good way to see the opera.

Special seats From time to time, if the performance group is small and there are many audiences, an additional chair is placed on the stage to surround the musicians. This may be a good choice if you want to see the performers up close.

Some of the concert halls are designed for this surround audience and there is a permanent seat behind the musicians.

Several theaters offer space for wheelchairs. Call the box office or the theater to arrange access; the space may be limited

Visually Impaired Several theaters have several seats, only a partial view of the stage. There might be a handrail and a pillar on the road, and the architect may be a firm case. These blocked seats are sometimes particularly cheap

The stage elevator and orchestral lift is a special elevator which is normally hydraulically driven to raise and lower all sections of the theater stage. For example, the Radio City Music Hall has four elevators. Orchestra elevator covering a wide range of the stage and three small elevators near the back of the stage. In this case, the lift of the orchestra is sufficient to lift the entire orchestra or the entire performer (including the living elephant) from beneath to the stage.
