Observation is the main source of active information acquisition. In biology, observation uses senses. Science also includes recording data using scientific instruments for observation. This term may also refer to any data collected during scientific activities. Observations are qualitative, ie quantified if only the presence or presence of an attribute is recorded, or if the value is associated with a phenomenon observed by count or measurement.
