SAT or ACT and other FAQs

Many students are told that SAT or ACT is a "better" or "easier" test. But this is not a good question. The truth is that it is different for each student

Due to changes in the new SAT format, SAT and ACT are more similar than before. Nonetheless, we discovered that students performed better in one test than others in general. The only way to decide which test to take is to practice SAT, complete ACT and compare your scores.

All universities treat SAT and ACT in the same way. No one of the admissions officials saw the exam as a more honorable or important exam. You should take ACT if you score higher in ACT, and SAT if you get higher score in SAT.

It will change again. You can run the second test a second time. If the second test fails, the university does not need to know that you accepted it. If you do better with the second exam, then the university will never know that you are the first exam.

SAT was originally a competency test designed to show the possibilities of students. ACT was a knowledge-based achievement test originally designed to show how many students studied in high school.

These are not completely correct anymore. Today, universities use ACT and SAT to predict the results of university students and compare students from various schools across the country.

Nonetheless, universities are aware that SAT and ACT are not the best way to predict student success.

Students who wish to go to college do not necessarily have to take SAT or ACT. Some schools are currently "test options" or "test flexible" and do not require students' standard test scores.

A superscore means that the school combines the highest scores of multiple test days to create a new total score.
