Santa Catalina Island

Santa Catalina Island on the south coast of California in the southwestern part of Los Angeles is commonly known as Catalina Island. Catalina Island is part of the Channel Islands. Catalina is the only island that has made important progress out of the eight islands. The island has two major villages - an illegal town of Avalon and Two Harbors ("Visit Catalina Island", 2014). Outside the border of the town, the island is covered with wildlife and is owned and operated by the Catalina Island Conservancy ("The Catalina Island Website", 2013).

For reference, Santa Catalina Island is a 22-mile California Channel Island located in the southwestern part of the coast of Los Angeles. In the summer of 2009, I was preparing for swimming. A marathon swimmer is constantly looking for a mass of water that has never been swamed by other people. The sea span between Catalina Island and Santa Barbara (SBI) seems to be the perfect place. Four years ago, I went swimming from Catalina Island to Los Angeles. Three years ago, I joined the relay team from SBI to Los Angeles. The water between Catalina and SBI will be a tough swim because this post is too ordinary. At the beginning of September the swimming plan was in the window, but by the beginning of July my right shoulder was really injured during more than 6 hours of training and swimming.
