Do you know what the most widely read page in the newspaper is? This is the editorial page! In addition to your time, you can help your library influence other people in the community by writing a letter to the local editor at a fraction of the cost. Keep your letter as short as possible (or delete some of your content with paper), remember to be persuasive. This is your chance to influence the opinions of people you may not know!
Letters can usually be sent by e-mail or mailed in envelopes. The address of the letter must be clearly printed on the paper page. This is a sample letter that will let you begin:
We write to express my concern that our branch may shorten working hours. As a cost reduction measure, New York City recommends that the library close all branches on Monday.
I am a staff member of XYZ branch office and I work on weekdays afternoon. When the school is closed everyday, dozens of students are doing their homework, using 13 computers in the library, and going to the library to socialize in a safe place. Many of these children would have been home to clean the house, and the library was a place to provide a safe and monitored alternative to return home.
Our library has developed several after-school programs to make constructive things for students who do not do homework; and other library customers tell us they are surprised and happy I will give you. The teachers called and said that the work of several students struggling is improving in the library from the afternoon. My parents told us they are very grateful to the library for their children 's welcome. Monday's break will be a big mess for these kids and I'm sure there are other ways to save money without having the safety and productive use of children in the afternoon.
Please encourage the reader to contact the representative of the city council and vote to keep the library open. Contact information on library website www. (Provide URL)
The citizens do not support high-salary consultants that the city council is using in newspapers and social media. A sample for editors is a summary of the feelings of many voters. "It is a bigger question that the city council is looking for your best interest or whether you want to divide the city's finances according to your own purpose should ask yourself." It should not be the first lineup. As there are many bets, many special interest groups are lined up to support this measure. New York City spent $ 140,000 to persuade voters to approve the vote O. If they feel it is necessary they will spend more on the rest of the day before the election maybe. If inspection O is checked, the defect is obvious. People want to be able to decide on measures that voters are looking at these flaws and getting more taxpayer funds.
Beginning on pages 131, 138, 143: The declaration is not always easy to find. Collect samples of 6 to 8 letters from a daily paper editor (or collect a similar number of discussions from political blogs). After reading each item, check the author's assertion. When you are the easiest, the guarantee can say "X is very good" or "X is very bad". p We will return to the editor or blog post analyzed in the exercise. 131, this time we are looking for guarantee behind each claim. As a starting point, ask these questions yourself:
Letters to Editors If you have concerns or opinions about your desire to openly communicate, you will write a letter to a newspaper or magazine editor. Newspapers and magazines offer space to print these letters. If you want to display your own characters just by choosing the best character, it is important to write this character effectively. Minutes If you attend the meeting, you may have noticed that someone is taking notes. At each meeting, the organization secretary takes a note (or appoints another person to appoint) and then writes a meeting account. These are called meeting minutes. Next, the secretary distributes a copy of the meeting minutes to the person before the next meeting, or reads the minutes at the next meeting. If there are mistakes or omissions, please correct them at the next meeting. The meeting record is used as the official record of the previous meeting and is reserved for future reference.
