Sam R. Watkins is a Confederate soldier from Columbia, Tennessee. At the age of 21, Watkins joined the other 118 young men and women of the Tennessee First Army. He is one of only seven in each fight. He wrote a memoir about his personal experience in the postwar 20 years. In the four years of war, Watkins lined up the story of humorous and horrible death with humorous memories. Morale at the end of the war was low morale, but Watkins reconsidered the war and private passion for their beloved southern.
