As our world society is operated by ancient doctrines, Sam Harris argues that religion is the basis of all human conflicts, "at the end of faith: religion, terrorism and the future of reason" I will. As faith bypasses all evidence, Harris feels "we are building an ignorant civilization" and should move in a different direction so that we do not want to encounter with bad luck. The amount of detail that Harris has dug down is unbelievable. Every time he refers to religion, he will include discussions for justifiable reasons noticing their disadvantages and supporting his view, including other arguments.
There are many books that I can name. Someone who did not include the reason why I was not a Christian, Bertrand Russell, or Sam Harris's "End of Faith and Letters to Christian Countries", Destruction of Daniel C. Dennett, Richard Dawkins's "God's Delusion" You may notice. Christopher Hitchens "God is not a great portable atheist
I recently had a luxurious and relaxing conversation with writers, neuroscientists, and public knowledgeable Sam Harris. When the best-selling book "The End of Faith" was released in 2004, Sam first gained public attention. A consideration on the September 11 incident and atheistic perception (words were used only once in the text), "end of faith" ranked fourth in the New York Times bestseller list. The bestseller after Sam contains letters to Christian countries awaking. Spiritual guidance to religion, and future cooperation and tolerance with Islam
Sam Harris' first book, the end of faith, caused a global debate about the effectiveness of religion. Later, Harris found that from religious fundamentalists to unbelievable scientists, most people agree that science does not address anything about human value subjects. In fact, being unable to solve meaning and ethical problems through science is now the most common reason for religious beliefs. This is also the main reason for feeling that so many secularists and religious moderators are obliged to "respect" the toughness of their more devout neighbors.
In Sam Harris' end of faith, he insists that Christians are gentle and peace-loving people just because they adopt secular views and abandon their dedication to the Bible I will. If Christians are truly loyal to their Bible, they demand that people outside their faith be killed. According to Harris, Deuteronomy 13: 6-11 demands the death penalty for diversity of religion. If Christians really want to obey the Bible, they are responsible for killing those who are not Christians. I was frankly disappointed at Sam's reasoning. In addition to Sam's book, I am his faithful fan. He is educated in the research field and neuroscience that I love. He criticized the political left. His podcast is interesting and exciting. He loves science and has a philosophical understanding. Why do not we go to love? Harris talked about lots of things. So why is my regret for his "end of faith" so bad?
