Salem Maritime

Nathaniel Hawthorne was born on a small house three blocks away from customs on July 4, 1804. By the 1840's he was a famous writer, but he found it difficult to support his family in writing. Fortunately, his best friend was Franklin Pierce who later became the president of the United States. Pierce and other Democratic friends joined Hawthorne's surveyor who worked at Boston Customs several years ago. However, as the Democratic Party's government was changed to the Whig party in 1848, Hawthorne continued to serve as a surveyor, losing his job at the end of painful long-term struggle.

He changed the pain, anger and betrayal he felt into his first wonderful novel, Scarlet Letter. In the introduction of the novel, he explained about Salem Custom House and pretended to find that story in a previous investigator's paper.

In 1692, Salem was divided into two parts. It is a town of Salem and a village of Salem. Salem Village, also known as Salem Farms, is actually part of Salem Town, but it is distinguished by its economy, class, and personality. The residents of Salem Village are poor farmers, mostly living in rocky lands. On the other hand, Salem is a lively port town with the London Trade Center. Most of the people living in Salem are rich businessmen. For many years, Salem Village aims to be independent from Salem. The town depends on farmers to obtain food, decides the price of the crop, and collects taxes from the village. Despite having walked between the two communities for three hours, Salem's village did not have its own church and minister until 1674.

Salem Witch 's trial did not start with Salem MA. They started in the village of Salem and are now known as the Danvers. In the beginning of 1692, a small town near Salem was slaughtered by Native Americans, thereby keeping the village of Salem alert. In addition to his fear of his own safety, Salem is still seeking God's intervention to help or prevent their protection as a community. The main factor of the huge hysteria that led to "witch hunting" is a deep-sea Salem Games between rural people in the western part and villagers in the eastern part of the town, the Westerners are farmers, the oriental people are merchants / It was a shopkeeper. The unverifiable theory is that Salem's hysterical reason is that the grain supply is infected with the ergot and that it may lead to hallucinations.
