Roughnecks: Oil Rig Workers

On the afternoon of a fine sunny day, I went to Mad Dog 4 of the oil tree. Derrick, by definition, is used as a tower crane at the top of a rig, sometimes used to move heavy machinery, but it is mainly used for pipes entering and leaving drill holes during drilling. It starts in the middle of a tall white field like the Eiffel Tower, surrounded by large blue, yellow or white containers. There is a small sign that someone knows that everyone is the entrance to Cade 21; the dirt road is made of all the tracks, moving the rig to its current position.

Traffic jams on the day are usually mixed with heavy oil drilling vehicles and rough cars on their beloved pickups. Although traffic is flowing, it only looks like Bangkok over Fargo, depending on something like traffic regulation. If you drive faster, you may get better with lots of speakers, shouting brakes, shouting tires, and general attitude. If you know about one or two things about science, you may know one or two joke about Heisenberg, as the B & B logo says, "Heisenberg may have been asleep here." The principle of Heisenberg's uncertainty is disclosed. I really do not understand it, so I can not explain it, but it says something that you can not know where elementary particles are and how fast it is. The more you know about their position, the less you know about speed, and vice versa.

On April 20, 2010, the Deepwater Horizon north drilling equipment far from the Gulf of Mexico was ignited, 11 workers were killed and some others were injured. This drilling equipment was owned by oversea drilling contractor Transocean and was leased to major oil BP sunk after 2 days and caused an uncontrolled oil spill for nearly three months. According to the US government, about 2 million barrels of oil eventually leaked, polluting at least 4,300 square miles of seas and 1,300 miles of coastline from Texas to Florida. It is believed to be the greatest coincidence offshore oil spill in history, killing thousands of birds, turtles and dolphins by temporarily destroying the fishing and tourism of the bay. Since then, BP has solved hundreds of billions of dollar cleanup costs, fines, and legal solutions.

As a result of the decline in oil prices and the decrease in the number of oil drilling equipment, it should be readily apparent that the number of workers employed in the oil industry has also declined. However, when the number of oil drilling equipment began to recover, the number of people employed was not. Anyone discussing the existence of technical unemployment should be very interested in the observation itself, but more information can be gathered from this chart. A dangerous and cumbersome task now requires fewer people to complete for automatic drilling. Automation of oil drilling equipment means that one drilling machine can do more with fewer workers. Indeed, it is expected that those who took 20 crew members will soon need five crew members. The application of new technology in oil drilling means that 440,000 jobs are lost due to the global economic downturn, and 220,000 jobs will never return again
